A Sharpie in Core Sound - Part 3 - Sailing

go to Part 1

We had some great sailing. Sometimes it was too rough to capture video, but I did manage to get some footage in more moderate conditions.

  1. 1. It's Shackleford Island, not Shackleton ;)
    2. Those canals off Oyster Creek were very likely dug by Roosevelt's WMA's during the Great Depression. They are drainage canals, in short, designed to make the (still low) high ground a little drier. They are also excellent marsh habitats, and mosquito breeders of excellence.
    3. The old fellow in the camper at the HI Fishing Center is a grand old gentleman.

Thanks, your stuff is a good read!

    1. Thanks Mommicked. Corrections made. I bet the pond was made after the canals.
